More experienced sitters or sitters with special skills like administering medication, caring for senior dogs, and vet tech training will sometimes charge a bit more for their particular specialty.

Additional rates may apply depending on the booking needs. These include Holiday rate, Additional Dog rate, Extended Care rate, Extended Stay rate, Puppy rate, and Pick-up and Drop-off rate. The Rover Guarantee is a reimbursement program primarily intended to protect pets. It can also cover vet care for a pet care provider’s pets or damage to a pet owner’s property in certain circumstances. Every booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in vet care for eligible claims. The Rover Guarantee covers up to $25,000 in vet care reimbursement for eligible claims related to injury to either the pet owner's or sitter’s pets, property damage to the pet owner’s home caused by a sitter, or dog walker, and certain out-of-pocket medical costs for 3rd party injuries. It also provides 24/7 support. However, it doesn’t cover damages to the sitter’s property or home, injury to sitters and dog walkers, injuries to family members or roommates, vet care costs beyond 30 days, or anything pre-existing or preventable such as fleas and ticks. In order to be eligible, injuries or damages must result from care provided during a service booked and paid through Rover. In general, the Guarantee reimburses costs in the event the responsible party is unwilling or unable to pay. It's important to note that the Rover Guarantee is not insurance and does not take the place of any insurance coverage you may have. To the extent any Rover users desire protection beyond the scope of the Rover Guarantee, they must purchase insurance that will provide sufficient coverage.
